Okta admits hackers accessed data on all customers during recent breach

Identity management giant Okta has acknowledged that hackers accessed data on all its customers during a recent breach of its support systems. Initially, Okta stated that only a fraction of its customers were affected, but now the company has revealed that all 18,000 of its customers are impacted by the breach. The hackers, who used stolen credentials to access Okta's support case management system, obtained data such as full names and email addresses for 99.6% of customers. Although there's no evidence of active exploitation, Okta warns of potential phishing or social engineering attacks. The company advises customers to use multi-factor authentication and phishing-resistant authenticators.
